ADHD Assessment for Children: Supporting Learning and School Life
Problems with concentration, organization and impulsive behavior may impact negatively on a child’s learning at school. An ADHD Assessment for Children will determine the causes for these problems and provide opportunities for education support.
Children with ADHD have difficulty completing tasks, following instructions, remembering their homework and remaining in their place in class. Such difficulties are often perceived as laziness and bad behavior, and this leads to loss of self-esteem and conflict with teachers and peers.
We use a cooperative model when gathering data about children with ADHD from parents, clinicians and schools. Information from teachers helps determine the existence of symptoms in various environments and impact on the academic achievements, classroom behavior and socialization.
After an ADHD Assessment for Children, there may be recommendations for accommodations. They may include special arrangements for tests, extra time during examinations, simpler instructions, break periods and routines that make life easier.
An ADHD Assessment for Children will provide an opportunity for parents and teachers to understand better how to use positive reinforcement and set rules. Cooperation of all adults in the child’s life will make him/her feel better.
Early diagnosis helps develop learning and emotional well-being.
