The 10 Watt RF Attenuator is mechanical and electronic, and its steps are generally 10dB and 5dB, and some spectrometers provide 2dB and 1dB step adjustment. 10 Watt RF Attenuator functions as follows:

, when the high level signal is measured, the signal is attenuated to protect the spectrum analyzer internal mixer from damage.

, improve the matching characteristics of instrument port.

, improve the accuracy of the test. The mixer is a nonlinear device, when the mixer input signal level is high, the output will produce many nonlinear products, and the level is too high will interfere with the test results, so that the non-intermodulation range is reduced. When the mixer input signal level is near and above the 1dB compression point, the test results will be inaccurate.

, improve the spectrum analyzer dynamic range. By setting a 10 Watt RF Attenuator to adjust the level entering the mixer, a large dynamic range can be obtained. At the same time, the setting of 10 Watt RF Attenuator is too large, and the background noise of the instrument is raised. Note: The measurement results of the instrument have taken into account the internal 10 Watt RF Attenuator setting and no additional compensation is required.
