KL University secures highest IIC rating for fifth consecutive year
KL University has secured a 4-Star Rating, the highest rating under the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) framework, for the fifth consecutive year. Awarded by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), the recognition acknowledges the University’s efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and startup activities during the 2024-25 IIC calendar year.
Adding to the achievement, seven University teams have advanced to the final rounds of the IIC Innovation Challenges. Of these, four teams have been shortlisted for the AICTE Production Fellowship (APF) final round, while three have qualified for the YUKTI Innovation Challenge final round.
Six of the seven shortlisted teams are part of the Honors Through Innovation (HTI) programme, highlighting the programme’s role in helping students take their ideas beyond the conceptual stage and work towards practical products and entrepreneurial solutions.
Er. Koneru Satyanarayana, Chancellor, KL University, said, “This recognition strengthens our resolve to make innovation an integral part of education. The advancement of seven student teams to the APF and YUKTI finals reflects the potential of their ideas and the value of dedicated mentorship. We are particularly proud that six teams are from our Honors Through Innovation programme. I congratulate our students, faculty and staff for their contributions. We remain committed to helping young innovators develop products that address real-world needs and create value for society.”
Dr. G. Pardha Saradhi Varma led the initiatives, with Dr. K. Narasimha Raju, HOD-MDI&E, overseeing them, while faculty and staff supported student-led innovation, entrepreneurship, and product development.
For students, this approach creates a pathway to explore ideas, develop prototypes, and work toward practical solutions. By connecting academic learning with innovation challenges and startup opportunities, KL University aims to help students understand how ideas can progress towards products that address real-world needs.
With a legacy of over 45 years in education and ranking among the best universities in India, KL University continues to strengthen its focus on innovation and entrepreneurship alongside academic learning.
